The Southern Network of Specialized Care facilitates a unified network of cross-sectoral partners that offer individuals with a dual diagnosis and their families the highest quality of assessment, treatment and support. The SNSC links community partners through collaboration, research, evaluation, knowledge transfer and training, in their quest to continuously improve practice and knowledge in the field. The SNSC works to strengthen the service system by providing a unified voice for specialized services through participation in local, regional and provincial forums.
Our vision is that People with developmental disabilities and co-existing mental health issues and/or challenging behaviours will live in their communities as full citizens, having access to an effective, collaborative and sustainable service system.
The SNSC is made up of individuals, service providers, academics and professionals with an interest in, or who provide specialized services to, individuals with a developmental disability.

1. Coordinate Specialized Service System
1.1 The Southern Network of Specialized Care will strengthen and expand community relationships
to ensure key stakeholders are collaborating on regional work plans that positively impact the
quality of life for people with dual diagnosis.
1.2 The Southern Network of Specialized Care will facilitate the sharing and aggregation of data from key stakeholders to better understand and inform service system responses that will positively impact the quality of life for people with dual diagnosis and improve the health of people with developmental disabilities.
1.3 The Southern Network of Specialized Care will champion a unified strategy that has been developed and is utilized by local, regional and provincial networks to positively impact the quality of life of people with dual diagnosis.
2. Enhance Service Delivery
2.1 The Southern Network of Specialized Care will create and provide enhanced opportunities for Specialized Clinical Providers to generate, incorporate and exchange best practices that will positively impact the quality of life of people with a dual diagnosis.
3. Train & Build Capacity in the Community
3.1 The Southern Network of Specialize Care will provide opportunities to current and future direct support professionals for knowledge growth and exchange that will ultimately impact the quality of life of people who have dual diagnosis.
3.2 The Southern Network of Specialize Care will ensure greater awareness of and involvement in research, evaluation and knowledge transfer opportunities that will provide understanding of the issues and practices that positively influence the quality of life of people who have dual diagnosis.
3.3 The Southern Network of Specialized Care will promote healthy lifestyles and access to health care services that meets their needs of people who have developmental disabilities
