One of the CNSC-O’s mandates is to train and build capacity in the community. By providing education to care providers and professionals across Ontario, we can ensure that people with a developmental disability and a mental health issue and/or challenging behaviour are able to access the highest quality of care across sectors.
Our collaborative approach draws on the talents of our four regional community networks. These Networks identify and respond to local community training needs by building partnerships across multiple and diverse sectors. They collaborate to identify shared training gaps and strategic priorities.
The primary way to reach our diverse and far-flung target audiences is via videoconferencing. This technology saves organizations, families and communities hours of travel time and money. The outcome is a shared pool of knowledge, expertise and resources for Ontario caregivers and care providers.
